Ever since the Windows 8 operating system was launched late last year Nokia have been enjoying great success with their Lumia range of smartphones that include the Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and the recently released Nokia Lumia 620 device. We can expect to see this popular range of devices grow very soon as two new models have just been officially unveiled, the Nokia Lumia 720 and 520 handsets.
Nokia Chief Executive Stephen Elop took to the stage at Mobile World Congress 2013 to officially introduce these two new handsets. It is hoped that the expansion of this range will help the growing Windows OS find it way into the hands of more smartphone consumers than ever before. Mr Elop stated that the new models would help to deliver some of the premium features found on the flagship Nokia Lumia 920 device to more affordable handsets. The Nokia Lumia 720 is the more advanced of the two new phones and features a WVGA 4.3 inch screen with a pixel density 217PPI and a resolution of 800 x 600. A 6.7 mega pixel camera is included together with a high quality Karl Zeiss Lens and performance speeds should be impressive thanks to a powerful 1Ghz dual core processing chip.
The second new model introduced is the Nokia Lumia 520 that will become the most affordable handset in the Finnish manufacturers range. The price of this model is set to be around 130 Euros which equates to just over £120. This should help Windows tap into a whole new market of consumers looking for budget phones without the premium prices that models like the Nokia Lumia 920 attract. The 520 still offers some impressive specification which includes a 4 inch screen with a pixel density rating of 230PPI and a powerful 1 Ghz dual core processor. The model will sport a 5 mega pixel camera and with 8GB of on board storage coupled with a micro SD card slot.
The new Nokia Lumia 720 and 520 are the two latest handsets in Nokia’s impressive Lumia range and should help the models appeal to a broader spectrum of consumers than ever before.
